Marine Deck Paint Do I Need Primer To Paint Over An Old Deck? There's An Old Old Flaky Coat Of Marine Paint On It Now.?

Do I need primer to paint over an old deck? There's an old old flaky coat of marine paint on it now.? - marine deck paint

Marine Paint My mother called, she said, like an oil? Anyway, the cover painted centuries ago and is vast and spans three sides of the house. She wants to extend the front with the recent UN-painted wood, but my mom to paint everything, and it does not sit here and remove ladders and all the bits. She wants to know whether the first or you will not be deleted, right? We have tried to pressure wash off, but it does not work so great.

what you have is an oil painting from ... Sorry, but you have to dig Prime and paint ... Otherwise, the old one was to keep peeling, even with the new color ... be worse in the long term

what would I do is get a hurry, wire brushes, paint brush all loose, give him a few layers of the outer glow.

Unless you want a perfect job * * ... then you have the whole batch of new, first strip, the upper layer.

AFAIK, only the first truly neccasary untreated wood or revised.

Good luck

Pressure cleaning will not work and can damage the wood.

I think it depends on how you want to view, if you are satisfied.
But first it will feel to scratching.

In the virgin wood you need a primer. Primer seals and protects the wood. On the seal also provides a good surface to paint. If you do not stop to 3.4 times look good and that will not last long.

After scratching (which is the most important and difficult) of a syringe rent or purchase.
I used to use my own painting company and you will never be a brush or roller again after spraying. Take time to reflect on work and to hide, what is not painted.

You can also use a protective spray paint shop that helps you with the organization during the color. They are made very quickly. requires at least 2 layers. This method will do if you do not need the mask. (Recommended)

As a professional with his spray skirt TAKE1-2 days with 2 persons. C. I have alsoARGE (think it's a dark side) $ 1000 - $ 2k to do it for you.

If you spray a need to mix colors. If your base oil, 1 liter of thinner than 5 liters of latex ISTS Add 1 liter of water 5 liters. To do this, spray properly.

How was the scaly layer? Before you go the way of high pressure cleaners.
It was curling and the gut (such as skin peeling from sunburn) or has been off the plane in thick layers.
Mama will not be granted. The hands and knees. The painting is 99% prep. Less than 1%.
With a pressure washer on a wood floor is not desirable, but it has done now. Allow to dry) for a week (minimum of heat, otherwise the new paint, as moisture in the wood "steam.

Unpainted Wood - The first is a necessity.
((Watch how the first "glue" between the surfaces.)) Is more important than outer coat. Put a layer of a certain age, EDGE is abrasive solids and pen shells with sandpaper grit 60
- The nails can scratch if you really want to lose - but there is no reason - so do not be so hard to make the color really well made.
CleanSweep.
Clean areas barbeQ meeting with TSP (degreasing) that must be crossed.
However, the jumper must be clean and free of grease.
First, the damn thing together.
Let the primer dry weeks. Whether the first primer is the first oil or water. A week. Then 2 coats of lacquer floor gallery and will continue with at least 2 days in his hand - a week is better to be 100% acrylic latex, or it will not last long. The vinyl is not as good at.
There are no shortcuts. This is the shortest way. If it is a cover (s) on the cover should last about 10 years.

Oh Honey ...... They have a big task ahead of you, bless your soul, all I can say from experience (like that for about 6 months, the new house we bought) sounds like me, what is painted on the platform of painting in oil was and latex paints, if they just go and if you've used oil paints to the question that goes in about 6 months and it will loosen because the new paint. In other words, you have to do without all that old stuff, then 2 coats of primer and then 2 or 3 layers of new paint and should last years. But before the review of all issues that call Lowes, Home Depot or even a Sherwin Williams in their area and tell them what they always face you will get a new product, the life that could possibly give birth makes and reduce by half work. Best luck and therefore ask that each product is there to help out. Kelly
